Oasis: Chasing The Sun 1993 - 1997

To celebrate the twentieth year since the release of their debut album, Oasis will be re-releasing their first three studio albums over the course of 2014.

All three albums have been meticulously remastered and will be released, in chronological order, with a carefully selected collection of rarities and additional tracks culled from Oasis label Big Brother Recordings and the band's own archives.

The original 1/2 inch tapes - some of which are over 20 years old - were located and expertly remastered by Ian Cooper at Metropolis.

'Definitely Maybe', the band's debut album, will be released on the 19th May, with '(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?' to follow later in the year. Each album will be made available as a special edition 3 CD set, heavyweight vinyl in a gatefold sleeve, and extremely limited deluxe box set (including both formats plus a 56 page hard back book, bonus 7" and exclusive memorabilia) as well as standard CD and digital formats. "In 20 years' time, people will buy Definitely Maybe and listen to it for what it was. That's what is important"Noel Gallagher, August 1994

"It was a disused warehouse and there were different businesses in there. And The Real People had this ground floor rehearsal space, where you walked in and they had all their gear set up, and upstairs they had a telly. And we used to go there, play local band nights and hang out with The Stairs, The La's, The Real People. They bought an eight track and I'm not sure they really knew how to use it properly, so we brought our mate Mark Coyle over one weekend. We put a few mics out and recorded maybe ten or fifteen songs. They were the songs on the original demo that we gave to Alan McGee. Great times. On the demo of Columbia there's a snippet of Tony Benn talking. We were just flicking through the radio recording it, and he was on. If anyone produced it, it was Mark Coyle. He put out the mics and was twiddling the knobs. The Real People were drinking beer, punching the air and going "this is great!"Noel Gallagher, 2014

Here’s your chance to own a piece of Oasis history. To celebrate the reissue of 'Definitely Maybe' we are now taking orders for a strictly limited edition run of replicas of the famous 'Union Jack' cassette of the first demo recordings made by the band. Featuring the original running order, all 8 songs on the cassette have been remastered and the cassette includes sleeve notes from original producer Mark Coyle. We are taking orders for the cassettes over in the store now, but hurry, these are strictly limited! Pre-orders for the limited edition 1993 Oasis cassette tape close have now closed.

"In my mind the album is 11 singles. Well, ten singles and a really nice, corny track on the end." – Noel on 'Definitely Maybe'

"The Beatles, the greatest band in history, write 'Hey Jude' and it's a cheap-shot melody. Our singles are cheap-shot melodies. Never be afraid of the obvious because it's all been done before." – Noel Gallagher, 1994

"It's about getting a bottle of cider with your mates, sticking on a Beatles album, talking s**te, puking up, meeting strange girls and maybe having sex. It's about escaping." - Noel Gallagher, 1994
