best amp for £100?

Postby Jarvis1 » 07 Nov 2009, 23:07

I have a Vox DA5 for practicing, it's ok imo, but I don't have much experience about amps, so I don't know how good it is compared to others in the same range. It's probably somewhere between 100-150e.

any opinions

I got the same amp but if you want to try and get a rockier sound on it the top strings sound dreadful. Or you get them right but then the bottom strings don't sound right. I don't even play my electric anymore.

Fender mike, you say?

They're not that impressive imo. Basic solid state amp. It's not like it has anywhere close to the sound of a "real" Vox, like an AC-15 or AC-30.

No, but an Orange Crush doesn't sound like a proper Orange, a Marshall MG soesn't sound like a Plexi etc. For under £100 I think they're the best bet.
