Has far too much of a flame top to be a 60's, its a Triple AAA top on it. He uses two at these gigs, the one that does Supersonic and the others, bar Gas Panic, which has a capo 3rd and black strap/black straplocks.

Good the truth came out.
no i said he has used 60s before. the first gibson les paul standard he had was an original 60s like i said.

There is no such thing as a " '60's LP' The original production run of LP Standards ended in 1960. To refer to them as '60's is misleading and wrong.

I would find it most difficult to believe that any of Noel's burst LP's used live were original 58/59/60 models. Have a look what they fetch these days. It only takes one idiot with a bottle at a gig...

This is partly true. The original Les Paul models were discontinued in 1960 in favor of the SG. The first SG's in '61 were actually called Les Pauls at the beginning. They had Les Paul logos on them. Les Paul hated them and made Gibson take his name off them and they started calling them SG's (solid guitar). Kieth Richards bought a '59 Les Paul in 1964 and then other UK guitarists like Clapton and Jimmy Page started playing them too. They became so popular that Gibson started making them again in 1968 and have been making them ever since. So the only 60's Les Pauls would be the 60, 68, and 69.

And your right I don't think anyone is stupid enough to use an original one live. I know an original 59 sold for well over a million dollars at an auction not to long ago.

i'm almost sure it wasn't an original 1960 gibson les paul burst, i remember reading it was a 50's conversion, meaning it was originaly an early/mid-fifties les paul made to look like a later burst model.

well there has been a lot of confusion and debating about that for some years. but if johnny marr says its an original sixties then it is in my mind.
i definitly think its a 1960s.

Yes its a 1960's, but its not a '1960'.

And for the guys debating if noels LP's are '59's, they are....but reissues!! They sell for around £4k. No, he isnt that stupid to play an original live.
