Noel's J-200 question

Its a ji85 rather than a j200.

There are different specs of the J185 available so i'm guessing its one of the top end ones as money probably isn't an issue

Noel's J-200 question

Postby JacobDobner » 19 Jan 2009, 19:12

It isn't a J-185. J-185s have a smaller body and shorter scale length. Noel's is clearly the same size as his J-200. Also, J-185s don't have the mustache bridge that J-200s have. The J-185 has what is called the Iron-Cross bridge. J-185s also lack a bound headstock and they also have split parallelogram inlays.

He's right, it's definitely a J200. The bridge of Noels is clearly the moustache that the J200 is famous for. It's a special model though, not sure what.

Noel's J-200 question

Postby robespierre » 21 Jan 2009, 02:24

Okay guys, I've posted this statement before. But here it goes again.

The guitar Noel plays is a Gibson J-200JR. It's not a regular J-200. It has an inch smaller bout, no neck or headstock binding, and a moustache bridge with only two silver inlays.

And it's not an EJ200.

The Black thing is called a Feedback Buster, which stops unwanted frequencies entering the sound hole of the guitar thus stopping any feedback!! Job done! Good Days

Noel's J-200 question

It is not. J-150s don't have a bound headstock. The two acoustics that Noel plays do have bound headstocks. Also, a quick internet search shows no sunburst J-150s.

Besides, the guitar that we are actually talking about is a artist model. Even though it is probably(85% sure) a J-200 I am asking who the artist is. It has a signature on the headstock.
